An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

Colin is a child prodigy who wants to be a genius and has a thing for Katherines. After he is dumped by Katherine XIX, his friend Hassan convinces him to go on a road trip where he tries to discover the Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability. There's lots of footnotes but the math is optional.
